Beaches in California with Bonfires

Bonfire in California
You can’t make the kids turn off their devices, but the exposure to a bonfire certainly won’t hurt.

Beaches in California with bonfires aren’t that difficult to find. However, during the busiest summmer this year, the beaches in California were swamped, especially in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Orange County and San Diego. Concessionaires and vendors said they had their best year ever in sales, as well, and some sold what seemed like tons of fire wood for beach bonfires. Thanks to sunny weather and the “staycation” with people saving on gas for the car and playing closer to home, the beaches became the number one choice for summer diversions in California.

What can be finer than a California beach bonfire? Many Californians prefer summer as the ideal time for this experience, but when autumn arrives with less crowds, cooler weather, and Renoir-style sunsets, it’s the perfect climate for a low-key family gathering or romantic outing.

Favorite bonfire locations:

1. Huntington Beach - with over 100 fire rings to enjoy, the only time you may not find a spot of your own is during the busiest summer months such as July & August.

2. Oceano Dunes State Beach - this is a cool spot. You just drive your car up on the sand, draw a hole (pit), and light your sticks.

3. San Diego - San Diego beaches offer a variety of locations to blaze your trail and enjoy the camraderie that only the time-honored tradition of roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over an open flame can provide.

To those who have visited LEGOLAND® California, it is no surprise that it wins awards for its friendliness, cleanliness, interest and entertainment value for children.  Awarded “Best Children’s Park”  five years now, this Carlsbad, Calif. theme park was selected by vote of  educated and well-traveled amusement park aficionados. Amusement Today, a monthly trade newspaper, awarded the 128-acre family theme park in Carlsbad the esteemed Golden Ticket Award on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 during a ceremony at Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida.

Legoland California includes many things to see and do. Land of Adventure, part of a $20 million dollar investment,  features four new attractions, more than 75 new LEGO models created out of nearly half a million LEGO® bricks and the Park’s first-ever dark ride, Lost Kingdom Adventure.  North America’s first SEA LIFE™ Aquarium, geared specifically to educate children on creatures under the sea, opened in August as a separate admission adjacent to LEGOLAND California. The two-story 36,000 square foot aquarium features 36 displays holding more than 250,000 gallons of water.

LEGOLAND is geared towards families with children ages 2 through 12 with more than 50 rides, shows and attractions.
